How to Install 2023-2027 Honda Pilot Rear Trunk Tailgate Logo:

Tools Needed: Heat gun or blow dryer, padded glove or felt-tip squeegee
Install Level:

Step-by-Step Installation:

1. Clean the Logo
   Rinse the entire emblem logo with soap and water or clean the entire surface with 70% isopropyl alcohol to remove any dirt, dust, oils, or debris.
2. Dry the Surface Completely
   Wipe the emblem logo completely dry. Make sure there is no moisture, dust, lint, or loose fibers remaining on the surface or around the edges.
3. Peel & Position each emblem overlay
   1. Carefully peel each letter one at a time from it's backing paper.
   2. Start with any letter you prefer.
   3. Start by aligning the overlay to left edge of each letter, ensure the top and bottom of the overlay matches the top and bottom of the letter. This will allow proper placement.
   4. Once the top edge and bottom edge is properly aligned, gently lay the rest of the overlay onto the emblem.
      
   5. Once everything is aligned, smooth the overlay down on all of the flat surface where the vinyl adheres to the emblem. If you see a small air bubble, firmly push it toward the nearest edge until the air escapes.
   6. Remove the transfer tape after you have properly laid the letter overlay.
4. Adjust the Placement if Needed
   If the placement does not look correct, carefully peel the overlay back and reposition it. DO NOT apply heat until you are satisfied with the placement.
5. Smooth the Entire Overlay
   Once the placement is correct, firmly smooth down the entire overlay, working from the center toward the outer edges. Make sure there are no remaining bubbles, wrinkles, or lifted areas.
6. Remove Small Bubbles if Needed
   For any remaining small bubbles, use your finger or felt-tip squeegee to firmly push the air toward the closest edge. A small amount of gentle heat can help the vinyl conform if necessary.
7. Correct Any Wrinkles Before Final Heating
   If a wrinkle forms, carefully lift that section of the overlay. Apply a small amount of heat to relax the vinyl, allow it to cool slightly, and then gently lay it back down without stretching or pulling it.
8. Final Placement Check
   Before post-heating, check the overlay from several angles one final time. Make sure the P I L O T  is properly covered and the overlay is sitting in the correct position.
9. POST-HEAT THE OVERLAY
   Once you are completely satisfied with the installation, use a heat gun or blow dryer to evenly warm the entire overlay, especially around the edges and corners. The vinyl should become hot/warm to the touch, but never scalding.

📌 Reminder: Always post-heat the vinyl after installation. This activates the glue and ensures maximum adhesion.
