Rear Bumper Reflector Pre-cut Overlay Tint for 2026+ Prelude

How to Install 2026+ Prelude Rear Bumper Reflector:

For Best Results
Tools Needed: Heat gun or blow dryer, padded glove or felt-tip squeegee

Step-by-Step Installation:

1. Rinse the entire rear bumper reflector with 70% isopropyl alcohol to remove all debris before application.
2. Dry the rear bumper side reflector completely to ensure there is no dust or residue left on the surface or in the crevices.
3. Begin either on the Driver's Side or the Passenger's rear bumper reflector. Align the side that is closest to the middle of the rear bumper, taking caution to align the top of the overlay with the top of the reflector. Ensure both the top and bottom of the reflector are covered with the tint.
4. Once you have aligned the overlay at the innermost edge, the rest will fall into place. If it does not, you can guide the overlay slowly by laying it and matching the edges of the reflector till the red is covered entirely.
5. Begin applying the overlay by using your finger or a felt-tip squeegee in a left-to-right motion, moving downward as you are pushing bubbles toward the nearest edge. There may be an overlay (hang), which is the extra tint that has to be wrapped around the reflector to ensure total coverage. Depending on how you install, there may be a 1 cm difference.
6. Continue laying the overlay till it is smoothed down on all parts of the flat surface (flat area of the reflector that faces you) until the desired placement has been met. (REFER TO PRODUCT PICTURES FOR ACCURATE PLACEMENT)
7. After laying the flat surface, if there is an overlay hang; use a heat gun or blow dryer to heat up the overlay slightly till you see the overlay tint start to conform to the shape of the reflector. Adjustments may be needed depending on how you install.
8. Once everything is laid out to your desired outcome, follow the steps below to ensure longevity and adhesion.
9. Post-heat the vinyl: Use a heat gun or blow dryer to remove small bubbles and activate the adhesive for stronger bonding.
10. If bubbles remain, press firmly with your finger or squeegee and swipe them out toward the closest edge.
11. If you make a mistake, gently peel off the overlay right away and reapply. Add light heat to remove wrinkles.
12. Important: Gloss Black overlays include a PET liner that must be removed after installation.

📌 Reminder: Always post-heat the vinyl after installation. This activates the glue and ensures maximum adhesion.
