How to Install
For Best Results
Tools: Heat Gun or Blow Dyer / Padded Glove or Felt Tip Squeegee
- Rinse / Soap your door handles to get rid of debris prior to application
- Make sure you have a padded card or soft glove to put on your fingers to begin applying the overlay on the door handle. If not, your fingers will work!
- Peel off Door Handle Overlay first then the Knub to the left or right after installing.
- This overlay only sits on the outer portion of the door handle.
- Start from the curved portion that sits flush with the actual door, lay that piece down first and work your way towards the end of the handle. You may do vice versa depends on how you want to install.
- Follow the lines of the outer face of the handle and adjust as needed. Make sure you lay and hold down one part and adjust the final lay as you lay down the overlay onto the door handle. Use your fingers to smooth the overlay onto the door handle and swipe towards the way you are laying it.
- Next is installing the knub overlay (the smaller portion of the door handle)
- If the door handle has the key lock on the knub, install the half circle first before installing the outer portion.
- stick one side of the overlay in and slowly align and lay the rest of the half circle in, it will overlap.
- TAKE your time on this as it is a bit more difficult to do as the hole is small and it is a tight fit. Once laid post-heat it till it is a hot temperature but not scalding to ensure tackiness.
- Next lay the overlay that has a hole in it and it should sit over the key hole and cover the existing overlay you placed inside the keyhole.
- Swipe left and right gradually to reduce bubbles
- If you have a blow dryer or heat gun, use it to get rid of any tiny bubbles and improve adhesion
- If there are bubbles make sure you press firmly with your finger and swipe it towards the closest edge
- If you mess up, you can peel it off right away with no hassle, and add some heat to get rid of the wrinkles.
